Hi, I'm Paul — and I know exactly what you're going through.

A little over a year ago, my family and I packed up our life in San Diego and made the leap to Valencia. It was an exciting new chapter — but like most expats, we quickly discovered that building a digital life in a new country is a lot more complicated than anyone warns you about.

Getting a digital certificate shouldn't take three visits to a government office. Setting up a Spanish bank account online shouldn't require a degree in bureaucratic Spanish. And your WiFi shouldn't drop every time someone opens Netflix. But here we are.

The difference for us was that I had more than 25 years of experience supporting attorneys and their technology needs at some of the world's leading global law firms. I knew how to solve complex technology problems under pressure, keep demanding professionals up and running, and make complicated systems feel simple. What I didn't expect was how many of our fellow expats were stuck on the same things — with no one to help them through it in plain English.

That's why TechLife Abroad exists.

We help English-speaking expats solve their home and small business technology problems — from WiFi optimization and home entertainment setup to device troubleshooting and ongoing tech support.
